Following what was an intense week of transfer activity, the Premier League’s summer transfer window has officially closed. With Premier clubs mandated to work within the legal boundaries of the Premier League’s sustainability rules, we saw a more controlled approach towards recruitment and player signings this summer.
Looking through the lens of tactics, fixture schedules, squad building, and past performance, I’ll be ranking the top ten Premier League transfers this summer.
10. Cryscensio Summerville to West Ham
The addition of Cryscensio Summerville provides West Ham United with a talented and versatile winger at an excellent price. His impressive performance at Leeds last season demonstrates his potential to bolster West Ham’s already stacked attacking unit.
9. Eddie Nketiah to Crystal Palace
Eddie Nketiah’s signing aligns perfectly with Oliver Glasner’s tactical approach, which emphasizes collective team movement and hard work off the ball. His goal-scoring record and potential link-up with Eberechi Eze make him an exciting addition for the Eagles. The poaching ability of Eddie can come in great use when Eze pings balls towards the Hale End graduate.

8. Noussair Mazraoui to Manchester United
Noussair Mazraoui‘s technical ability and athleticism make him an excellent defensive signing at Old Trafford, more importantly owing to his ability to provide cover for the injury-prone Luke Shaw. His presence enhances Manchester United’s defensive depth while providing Ten Hag with a variety of tactical setups as he can play across multiple positions in the backline. We have already seen the Morracan have offensive impact donning the United badge, but can he sustain such consistency throughout the season?
7. Federico Chiesa to Liverpool
Federico Chiesa’s versatility and value for money makes him an astute signing. He offers optimal cover for Mohammed Salah and can play across various forward positions. His injury record might be worrying but at €12 million, his technical quality and experience could be key to Arne Slot’s Liverpool revolution.
6. Raheem Sterling to Arsenal
Following the summer of departures at the Emirates Stadium, Raheem Sterling‘s arrival addresses a critical concerns in Arsenal’s offensive setup. His experience working with Arteta and unique skillset add a new dimension to Arsenal’s left flank and provides the needed depth on the right wing, with the potential for match-winning individual performances.
5. Emile Smith Rowe to Fulham
Marco Silva’s coaching expertise has optimized Fulham’s resources, and Smith Rowe appears to be the missing link in the final third, connecting defense and attack for a Fulham side who have struggled to be creative in the opposition box.
4. Pedro Neto to Chelsea
With Raheem Sterling’s departure, Pedro Neto’s signing injects freshness into Chelsea’s left wing, offering blistering pace and mesmerizing dribbling quality. His arrival mitigates concerns about Mudryk’s inconsistent form and adds a new dimension to Enzo Maresca’s attacking setup.

3. Yankuba Minteh to Everton
A promising young talent coming off the back of a stellar performance at Feyenoord on loan from Newcastle last season. A €40 million permanent transfer to Brighton for the left winger could be regarded as a contender for the transfer of the summer with the teenager’s explosive pace and dribbling is sure to be a nightmare for Premier League defenders.
2. Savinho to Manchester City
Savinho’s stellar season at Girona earned him a bargain transfer fee (€25 million) to the English Champions. Savio can play in both wings and adds an element of unpredictability to Pep Guardiola’s City squad. He’s very good at holding the width perfectly and has the individual quality to provide moments of magic.
1. Amadou Onana to Aston Villa
Amadou Onana is Premier League-proven defensive midfielder with elite-level athleticism, able to eat up lots of ground during defensive transitions while also providing quality in possession. His rare profile made him a transfer target for top European clubs, and his addition solidified Aston Villa’s renaissance under Unai Emery.
