The latest episode of The Bold and the Beautiful featured a scene between Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) that some fans found controversial. The B&B scene was supposed to be about the healing powers of the chakras, but instead featured a tantric position called “Yab Yum.”
This led to a very heated discussion among the audience. And some eyebrows were raised for introducing something to the show that wasn’t about recovery. It was more about getting excited.
The Bold and the Beautiful: Ridge Forrester and Taylor Hayes “Align” the Chakras
The Bold and the Beautiful had Ridge book a chakra healing session with Shandra (Minita Gandhi) to help Taylor deal with broken heart syndrome. But things took an unexpected turn when Shandra instructed Taylor to climb onto Ridge’s lap.
He put them in the Yab Yum position. Unbeknownst to them, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) was looking out the window. Even before the chakra chick had Taylor straddle herself on top of Brooke’s boyfriend, she was shocked by these meditation poses.
As a yoga enthusiast, I was curious about this position because it didn’t look like a real yoga position. And I decided to investigate further. I had never seen this in yoga class, so I Googled it and quickly realized why I had never seen it.
The Bold and the Beautiful put them in a tantric sex position. Partners sit opposite each other. One stands above the other. And this intimate activity is done by aligning all the chakras. This was supposed to be very “satisfying”.
B&B Is Pushing Boundaries – No Surprise Brooke Logan Is Shocked
Brooke was shocked that BB contained something so naughty. And it left many fans questioning the appropriateness of the content. Some argue that this crosses the line. Others wonder if the Brave writers were hoping viewers would use Google and that would generate some interest and help ratings.
Brooke’s reaction continues in the next episode of The Bold and the Beautiful. He confronts Taylor, accusing her of trying to steal Ridge. But it was Ridge, not Taylor, who hired the chakra healer.
I worry that his inflated ego is making him think he broke Taylor’s heart all by himself. And only he can heal it. So it’s like Ridge’s civic responsibility. That’s who Brooke should be angry at. Not a woman with a medical condition!
The Bold and the Beautiful: Taylor Needs to Escape the Ridge!
The Bold and the Beautiful brought Taylor back for a reason. But I hope this doesn’t mean getting into another love triangle with Ridge and Brooke. This week he will explain his situation to Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood).
Meanwhile, Brooke and Ridge have a confrontation about what they saw. Ridge now seems to think Brooke is acting like a snooping Tom. But I can’t really blame him.
It will be interesting to see how Ridge explains himself. Already on The Bold and the Beautiful, Brooke mocked Taylor by doubting her illness. No matter what, Taylor needs to get away from Ridge so she can truly heal and move on with her life.
However, Ridge’s ego thinks that only he can “heal” Taylor, which could hurt him even more. I don’t think you want to take it away from Brooke. So I hope this triangle thing stops before it starts.
Because if she starts, Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) will start sniffing Brooke. And in the end it will still be Ridge with Brooke, and there will be Taylor and Bill outside. How about we go ahead and put Dollar Bill next to Taylor?
They can try some Yab Yum, align their chakras, and do some healing (while starting something new). I’m for a new romance rather than a remake of something we’ve seen countless times on The Bold and the Beautiful.
