Sister Wives star Kody Brown opened up in a new interview about Garrison Brown‘s death and how he wades through the aftermath of this horrendous time. He also shares his one regret, which may surprise viewers of the TLC series.
Sister Wives: Kody Brown Describes Garrison Brown
Kody Brown saw Garrison Brown as a young man with a bright future. He was going places and had so much to live for. Kody described his reaction to losing his 25-year-old son.
Kody said, “You do have a little bit of an expectation — and especially with somebody who’s got essentially a bright future”. The Sister Wives father of 18 then continued, “He was planning a future. He always wanted a story to tell, some adventure”. The grieving dad then said, “He was always either cracking a joke or wanting to talk about an adventure”.
Much like Garrison’s mom, Janelle Brown, Kody saw Garrison planning for a future. Janelle offered her thoughts on social media as September marks the six-month anniversary of her son’s death. His Sister Wives mom never saw this coming, she thought Garrison Brown was excited about what the future held for him.
Kody Brown Has One Regret
Viewers saw the turmoil between Kody Brown and his sons on the Sister Wives show. So when Kody revealed his one regret, some were surprised. The grieving dad regrets not having more time to spend with his son today.
Like most people feel when they’ve lost a loved one, Kody wants his time back with Garrison, so the two can make more fond memories. He said, “I want to go out to dinner again. I want to sit down”. He continued, “I want to have a beer. I want him to try and make me laugh because he was kind of that way”.
Then he said, “The only regret is just, gosh, I would just do that more often,” Kody said. “The only regret is that you didn’t do something. You didn’t take more time.”
Sister Wives: Can’t Get Back To Where He Was
Since Garrison Brown passed, Kody cannot get back to where he was. Nothing is the same for the Sister Wives father after Garrison’s death. The patriarch of this now-defunct family said, “I can’t get back to where I was. I can’t reconcile that he’s not here.”
Kody also said the grief of losing a child is much different than when you lose a relative or a close friend. While Kody admits that his relationship with Garrison could have been better, he left it at that.
Kody not mentioning the friction that the Sister Wives fans saw on the screen with a couple of his sons, hopefully means they were able to mend this before his son passed. The funeral is reportedly included in the episodes of this new season. Sister Wives Season 19 rolls out Sunday night, September 15, at 10 p.m. on TLC.
