The contentious legal dispute between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie over their French winery, Chateau Miraval, has reached a new chapter with the revelation of payment details for Pitt’s alleged purchase offer to Jolie. Court documents reveal that Pitt made Jolie a $54.4 million buyout offer in 2021 to buy out her stake in the winery, with an initial payment of $46 million and $8.4 million in installments. The two initially bought the vineyard in 2008 as a family business, but tensions escalated after they separated in 2016.
According to Pitt’s team, Jolie pulled out of the takeover, citing issues with the terms, however she allegedly began secret negotiations with the Stoli Group, eventually selling her stake for $64 million. In response, Jolie indicated her dissatisfaction with the company’s direction in a 2021 email, saying she wanted out due to concerns about family influence and management decisions she found harmful.
As the legal proceedings continue, Pitt maintains that Jolie’s actions violated their previous agreements, while Jolie defends her right to sell her interest independently.
