CAINTA, Rizal – Miguel Flor maintained his composure and prevailed in the hotly contested Mixed Classified Masters final of the 26th Sletba-Liza Zapanta Open Championships on Friday.
Flor, a promising youth member of Sletba at 19, had to delve deep into his inner determination to fend off the challenges of his rivals, which included his coach and mentor.

In fact, after the first game, Flor placed 12th out of 39 finalists with a scratch score of 185. However, in his next game he rolled a 201 and ended up in 4th place.

Flor scored a total of 1,692 points, followed by Nick Ortega from Sletba with 1,690, George Mañozo from Sletba-Gruppo with 1,640, Villarosa with 1,630 and Annie Estrada from Sletba with 1,607.

Ortega, Mañozo and Estrada were nowhere near the lead at the start of the final and had to endure a climb to get a podium finish.
This is Flor’s third major championship title this year, thanks to the leadership of Mañozo, his coach and mentor.
“After my second title I had problems with my shots and couldn’t find my rhythm. Coach George helped me, especially in improving my mental toughness,” Flor said.
The 26th Sletba-Liza Zapanta Open Championships is sanctioned by the Philippine Bowling Federation (PBF). It takes place in the Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall Bowling Center in Cainta, Rizal.
The tournament consists of seven divisions, featuring participants from various PBF-affiliated associations. It ends on Sunday with the national team players seeing action in the Mixed Open Masters category.
