MANILA, Philippines – After a much-needed break and quality time with his family in his hometown of Cebu, June Mar Fajardo is ready to hit the court again, this time for another tour of duty with Gilas Pilipinas.
Fajardo hasn’t played since San Miguel Beer lost to Ginebra in the PBA Governors’ Cup semifinals last month. On Sunday, he was back in the PBA at the Araneta Coliseum, where he was named the conference’s best player.

“I was fine. My vacation was nice, I just went camping with my siblings and that was good because I was able to relax and unwind, even if it was just for a week,” said Fajardo, who played his 11th game before Game 4 of the PBA Finals .BPC plum received TNT and Ginebra.

“It was a much-needed rest. I think that’s enough because I’m going back to training tomorrow.”
The eight-time PBA MVP will once again train with Gilas for the second window of Fiba Asia Cup 2025 qualifying, coming later this month.

“I was shooting at home, we have a place anyway, so I kind of worked on my game,” he said.

“Every time we get accepted into Gilas we are excited, so I’m looking forward to playing again and I’ll be prepared for this window.”
The Philippines will open the second qualifying window against New Zealand on November 21 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
