I know it’s been a while since then “Flash” was released in theaters but I have to say after watching the movie again MaximumI think it’s clear to say that Michael KeatonBest actor to play the Caped Crusader.
Keaton played the hero in the movie Tim BurtonSuperhero movie directed in 1989. Many fans were skeptical of her controversial casting, but were happy to have her appear in the film upon its release and welcomed her back for the sequel in 1992.
This is why Keaton is at his peak as a comic book hero.
“DARKNESS” LAWS THE FOUNDATION OF BATMAN
Before Michael Keaton, all fans had for Batman was Adam West in the 1960s television series, and while the series had its moments, it actually seemed more ordinary than dark. West had a more comedic take on the character, which might have been fine for the 1960s, but it doesn’t really honor the source material.
Keaton brought the character into darker territory, allowing him to chase after Batman, but only after having to walk in the Batsuit was a breath of fresh air to see him.
THE ORIGIN STORY IS MORE TRAGIC
In the original comics, Bruce Wayne’s parents are killed by criminal Joe Chill. And it’s the tragic event that makes him the caped crusader. It’s a great origin story, but the 1989 movie changes a few things.
In the Tim Burton movie, Jack Napier aka Joker kills Wayne’s parents. Still, this is Napier before he became the Joker, but it makes a great connection to why Batman has such a real and deep disdain for the Joker, thus making their hero-villain dynamic more tangible to watch.
HE ENCOUNTERED A KRYPTONIAN WITHOUT KRYPTONITE
Spoiler alert if you haven’t seen The Flash, because Keaton’s Batman takes on the Kryptonian Nam-ek in the coolest and shortest showdown in the DCEU; here, Batman grabs the Kryptonian by the neck and attaches bombs to him, eventually knocking the alien out. He crashed to the ground with a final explosion.
Keaton can take comfort in knowing that he’s the only Batman to take down a Kryptonian without Kryptonite. Even Affleck couldn’t confirm this.
