General Hospital Comings and Goings: Chad Duell as Michael Corinthos
General Hospital News that Chad Duell will soon be leaving the series after playing Michael Corinthos for 14 years is shocking to those who have come and gone. Recently, Chad announced the following after his amazing years on social media: GH, He decided to step away from the show.
He said it wasn’t an easy decision, but it felt like the right time in his life. Chad loves his cast like family and is beyond grateful for his fans. He also said that this is not a farewell, just see you later. So hopefully he’ll come back one day soon.
So far, General Hospital showrunner Frank Valentini says there are no plans to recast the character. But you never know. She’s sad to see Chad go, but wishes him the best. Their final appearances will be in early 2025 – likely the February Sweeps.
Indeed, his character will have to be written off. But the real question is; How will it come out? Will he die tragically like Sam McCall? Or maybe he’s leaving town because his life is out of control.
Did Michael die because of GH?
There’s no doubt that Michael is neck-deep in drama right now. He now knows that his uncle Drew Cain Quartermaine is sleeping with his wife Willow Tait. So he makes it his mission to destroy Drew. General Hospital.
Meanwhile, he got into trouble with his ex-girlfriend Sasha Gilmore and now thinks she’s pregnant. If so, when you tell Michael they can both leave town together.
In fact, he doesn’t have much to keep him in the city. On the other hand, he might suggest to Willow that they take the kids and move so they can get away from Drew and start fresh.
Of course if General Hospital Wanting to make a big splash, Michael may “die” in a mob incident. Or maybe his sister, Kristina Corinthos, will come out to save Davis. Currently, Ava is desperate for revenge on Jerome.
So he could make an impulsive move, causing Michael to step in and get killed in the process. It will really be exciting to see how Chad’s departure plays out and what happens next for Michael, Willow, Drew, and Sasha.
GH Casting Updates: Kai Taylor Under Contract
As Chad Duell bids farewell to the character of Michael Corinthos, a new person joins us. New character Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) is officially under contract. So it will be around for the foreseeable future.
Kai is the new love interest of PCU football team’s star quarterback and fan favorite Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali). But Trina is now approaching another newcomer: Gio Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza).
They may be on their way to becoming besties now General Hospital. However, a love triangle may be waiting for Trina. If so, it will be interesting to see who he chooses.
General Hospital Casting News: Lucky to Stay in the City
GH Casting news also reports that Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) has chosen to stay in Port Charles rather than return to Africa. The deciding factor was the love of his life: Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst).
Right now, Elizabeth is in trouble and needs Lucky’s help. It was recently revealed that Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) cause of death was an overdose of Digitalis. Elizabeth is the company’s head nurse. General Hospital and I signed off on all the medications given to Sam.
So it’s being investigated. Of course, no nurse gave Sam Digitalis. It is almost confirmed that it was Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) who killed him by putting the drug in his IV bag. So Lucky will help Elizabeth prove her innocence.
They will also get additional help from Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Together, the three of them will prove that Liz is not wrong. And hopefully we’ll reveal that the real culprit is Cyrus Renault.
