PNC operates over 180 locations in Florida, and it has a variety of account options available, including interest-bearing checking accounts and high-yield CDs. If you’re a new PNC customer, you could be eligible for special promotional offers; if you meet certain deposit requirements, you could qualify for hundreds of dollars in bonuses.
PNC’s accounts do have monthly fees, so you may have to pay a fee if you don’t qualify for service charge waivers. And, its APYs tend to be relatively low on savings accounts.

If you’re looking to grow your money, you can take advantage of Fifth Third Bank’s promotional CD rates to earn a higher-than-average APY. Fifth Third Bank has several checking account options, including interest-bearing checking accounts, and the bank is highly-rated for customer satisfaction. In fact, J.D. Power awarded Fifth Third Bank the top spot in the U.S. Retail Banking Satisfaction Study for the state of Florida.
However, it charges fees for money market and savings accounts. Additionally, though it offers APYs that are substantially higher than the national average for CDs, the higher rates only apply to select terms.

Although Regions Bank operates several branches in Florida, it has some standout digital and mobile banking features. With Regions Offers, you can activate merchant offers through your online or mobile banking account and earn cash back on debit card purchases. Regions also offers its eAccess Account, a digital account with low fees for those who rarely need physical checks.
Although Regions boasts higher-than-average rates on CDs, it has limited CD term options. And, most of its checking and savings accounts require monthly fees.

Although TD Bank charges monthly fees for its savings and checking accounts, it has several fee waiver opportunities that are more achievable than most banks offer. By maintaining a relatively low balance, completing a number of deposits or meeting age restrictions, you can qualify for a waiver of monthly fees. With some accounts, you can qualify for overdraft fee reversals and ATM fee refunds.
TD Bank has an extensive branch and ATM network in the Sunshine State; it operates over 160 locations and over 250 ATMs within the state. Besides its account options with low fees, it also offers higher-than-usual rates on CDs, allowing you to lock in your APY. The best APYs require a TD Bank checking account, and the bank has fewer term options than other banks; the maximum CD term is just five years.

Truist operates over 200 physical branches in Florida, and it’s an excellent choice if you want to open a CD. It has a relatively low minimum deposit requirement of $1,000, and you can earn an APY that is substantially higher than the national average.
Unfortunately, Truist doesn’t allow customers to open CDs online; you have to schedule an appointment with a banker. Truist has lower ratings for customer satisfaction; J.D. Power placed Truist in the last spot for Florida in the U.S. Retail Banking Satisfaction Study.
