MANILA, Philippines — Alas Pilipinas absorbed its second straight loss in the SEA VLeague Leg 2 after getting swept by Vietnam anew, 25-16, 25-20, 25-22, on Saturday in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.

The Filipino Spikers’ gallant stand wasn’t enough in the last two sets, especially in the third as Faith Nisperos drilled back-to-back attacks to cut it down to a two-point deficit, 20-22, before the Vietnamese scored back-to-back points to reach matchpoint, 22-24.

Bella Belen and Cherry Nunag cut Vietnam’s lead down to two anew but the former committed a crucial service error, handing the runner-up’s second win in the second leg.
