It’s understandable that the Final Four will be a highly competitive showdown between the No. 2 and No. 3 teams.
However, the course of the UAAP Season 87 men’s basketball tournament will exceed those expectations.
La Salle and the University of the Philippines (UP) have dominated the tournament, creating such a gap between them and the rest of the field that both look unassailable heading into another showdown in the finals.

MANILA, Philippines – Kevin Quiambao proved to be the brightest star in the UAAP for the second consecutive year after being named MVP of the Season 87 Men’s Basketball Tournament.
After another masterclass season, Quiambao was once again the overwhelming MVP winner with 81,357 statistical points after averaging 16.64 points, 8.64 rebounds, 4.07 assists and one steal in the elimination round.
The 23-year-old forward became the first La Salle Green Archer to win consecutive MVP titles since Ben Mbala in 2016 and 2017.

MANILA, Philippines – Kacey Dela Rosa’s 14 consecutive double-doubles in the UAAP Season 87 women’s basketball tournament led to another MVP award.
For the second straight year, the Ateneo center showed her dominance with a league-best statistical score of 96.286 after averaging 22.07 points, 16.0 rebounds and 2.29 blocks – leading the Elimination round at the top of all three divisions.
The Gilas Pilipinas player joined Cassy Tioseco as Blue Eagles and won two consecutive UAAP MVPs since the latter won in 2006 and 2007.
