FBI says bomb threats against Trump nominees – Newsad

Several members of Donald Trump’s incoming administration have received threats, including bomb alerts, with one candidate reporting a pipe bomb, the FBI said Wednesday. Agence France-Presse I mentioned.

β€œThe FBI is aware of numerous bomb threats and beating incidents targeting new administration nominees, and we are working with our law enforcement partners,” the office said in a statement.

Swatting refers to the practice in which the police are urgently called to someone’s home under pretexts.

Carolyn Leavitt, a spokeswoman for Trump’s transition team, previously said that several appointees and nominees had been “targeted with violent, un-American threats to their lives and those they live with.”

Elise Stefanik, the pro-Trump congresswoman tapped to serve as UN ambassador, said her New York residence had been subject to a bomb threat.

She said in a statement that she, her husband and young son were returning from Washington for the Thanksgiving holiday when they learned of the threat.

Lee Zeldin, Trump’s pick to head the Environmental Protection Agency, said his home was targeted by a pipe bomb threat sent with a “pro-Palestinian message.”

The former New York congressman said he and his family were not home at the time.

As he prepares to return to the White House in January, Trump has quickly assembled a cabinet of loyalists, including many criticized for a severe lack of experience.

The Republican, who appears intent on avoiding prosecution in criminal prosecutions related to attempts to overturn his 2020 election loss, was injured in the ear in July in an assassination attempt.
