MANILA, Philippines – Juami Tiongson’s time at Terrafirma came to an end on Monday after the leading scorer was traded to perennial title contender San Miguel Beer ahead of the midseason PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
The league confirmed that it had agreed to the deal, which allowed the Beermen to sign Tiongson and role player Andreas Cahilig to the Beermen in exchange for veterans Terrence Romeo and Vic Manuel.

Tiongson leaves Terrafirma, which was again a key contributor to last season’s surprising quarterfinal run in the Philippine Cup, after sending Stephen Holt and Isaac Go to Barangay Ginebra last August ahead of the season-opening Governors Cup.

With Cahilig, one of their reliable defenders and rebounders is also parting ways with Dyip.
Terrafirma gets Romeo, the former top scorer who won four championships during his time at San Miguel but has struggled with injuries in recent seasons.

Romeo will also reunite with Stanley Pringle, his former teammate at GlobalPort (now NorthPort).
The Dyip also get Manuel, who was plagued by injuries and a lack of minutes in the latter part of his stint in San Miguel.
The Tiongson trade came two weeks after Terrafirma awarded the rights to Jordan Heading to Converge for two players and a future pick.
Terrafirma will play in the Commissioner’s Cup opener against Heading and Converge at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City on Wednesday.
