QIA (Qatar Investment Authority) is the asset manager of the State of Qatar. It was established in 2005 with the primary goal of creating long-term value, as well as two other goals in support of Qatar’s prosperity: providing liquidity when needed to stabilize the local economy and supporting local economic development. According to the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute, the QIA is the eighth-largest sovereign wealth fund in the world, with total assets of $526 billion.

QIA invests in nine sectors: retail and consumer; technology, media and telecommunications (TMT); liquid securities; infrastructure; finance; funds; healthcare; industrial enterprises; and real estate.
