MANILA, Philippines – Ray Parks’ efforts were not enough as his Osaka Evessa lost to the Mikawa Seahorses in the 2024-25 season of the Japanese B.League.

Parks scored 15 points, two assists and one rebound in 26 minutes of play in the 95-81 loss as Osaka fell to a 4-2 record.

Former NBA journeyman Jake Layman was just too much for Evessa as he scored 23 points for Mikawa.

Meanwhile, Kai Sotto suffered the same fate as his Koshigaya Alphas, who lost to the Shimane Susanoo Magic (92-75) at Wing Hat Kasukabe.

The Gilas big man posted 12 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal, but to no avail as Koshigaya fell to 1-5 on the season.

James Michael McAdoo recorded 17 points and seven rebounds to help the Susanoo Magic win.

Other Philippine imports weren’t so lucky either.

Roosevelt Adams’ Yamagata Wyverns lost 88-64 to the Toyama Grouses at Yamagata Prefectural Sports Park.

Adams had just eight minutes to finish with three points as Yamagata fell to a 2-4 record.

Thomas Kennedy dominated the Grouses’ win with 28 points and four rebounds.

AJ Edu’s Nagasaki Velca fell to the Gunma Crane Thunders, 82-72, at the Openhouse Arena OTA.

Edu, a former Toyama member, finished the game with six points and five rebounds in just 17 minutes of play, dropping Velca to a 4-2 record.
