MANILA, Philippines – It didn’t take long for San Miguel Beer guard Jericho Cruz to move on from the heartbreaking loss to Ginebra that derailed the Beermen’s PBA Governors’ Cup title bid on Sunday.
Cruz had a chance to send the game into overtime, but missed the potentially game-winning three-pointer from the right wing as time expired.

“I didn’t make it, so let’s just move on,” Cruz said after San Miguel failed to extend its semifinal series to Game 7.

“I don’t want to go into more detail. Next time it happens again, hopefully it will go in.”

Cruz finished the game with eight points on just 3 of 11 field shots and five rebounds.
Cruz, 34, played with an ankle injury but refused to use that as an excuse.
“It’s a matter of life and death for us, so I had to play. I just took some painkillers so I could play and when I did that I didn’t feel it anymore,” he said.

“But after the game the medication wore off and it swollen again, but that’s no excuse.”
Cruz injured his right ankle two nights ago in the Beermen’s 121-92 loss in Game 5.
“They really just played well. We just have to move on, forget about this loss and bounce back in the next conference. I just have to stay healthy.”
