Sister Wives fans blame Kody Brown‘s sarcastic remarks for prompting his new daughter-in-law to offer a rare post on the TLC series after Sunday’s episode.
Kody talked about the event that brought the family together on their TLC series for the first time since his three wives left him. They all attended a wedding, but throughout the episode, they only called it “the wedding.”
No one mentioned the bride and groom by name on the show. But fans knew they were Logan Brown and Michelle Petty. Now the bride confirms this. But she also shares how her new in-laws disappointed her on their show.
Sister Wives: Kody Brown Family Attends Ghost Wedding
Kody Brown, Meri Brown, Christine Brown, Janelle Brown, and Robyn Brown attended the wedding of Logan Brown and Michelle Petty. While they talked about it for about 2o minutes on Sunday night’s show, they never mentioned the bride and groom’s names.
Fans figured out whose wedding they referred to on Sister Wives. But they also wondered why the couple remained ghosts when the family talked about it.
They offered a disclaimer on the show that the bride and groom wouldn’t allow the Sister Wives cameras in. This also got the viewers wondering why Logan and Michelle opted to stay off the series.
But they don’t need to wonder anymore. Michelle addressed this in a rare social media post about the TLC show.
Kody’s Daughter-in-Law Clears Up Confusion
Michelle Petty posted an explanation about why their names left out of the Sister Wives episode last Sunday. While they told Kody Brown’s family that they “preferred the wedding not mentioned on the show at all”, the show mentioned “a wedding” instead. Kody, his wife, and his ex-wives talked about the event as if it were generic, using no names.
Still, Michelle felt it was awkward they never mentioned her or Logan Brown as the bride and groom. She also said, “at no point have we told them to never mention our names or pretend we don’t exist”. She added, “Just trying to keep our lives off TV as much as we can.”
Fans hopped online to ask her why they didn’t appear in the series. Some viewers encouraged them to show up on the screen.
But Kody’s daughter-in-law explained their life is normal and pretty much mundane. So, filming them wouldn’t be interesting for anyone to watch. But that’s not all she said. She critiqued Sunday’s show and shared her disappointment.
Sister Wives: Michelle Petty Points to Negative Light Put on Her Wedding
While the bride and groom remained anonymous during Sunday’s episode, the way Kody Brown and the other adults talked about the wedding rubbed Michelle the wrong way. Michelle wrote, “Seeing a long explanation that [the wedding] was sad and awkward was not fun to come across on my TikTok FYP lol”. The TLC post of the couple below was back from when they first became engaged.

While she never mentioned Kody or any of the Sister Wives ladies, fans knew who she was talking about. She assured the fans they did their best to make everyone comfortable on their special day. But that brought Kody’s spiel to mind for the fans.
On Sunday’s episode, Kody looked into the camera and said that he and Robyn were put in the corner. Next, the Sister Wives father of the groom laughed and said it was probably for their safety, as he felt anger from some family members. So, it looks like Kody Brown and all the women he married found the event awkward in the aftermath of the split.
But his daughter-in-law was not impressed that the family let their awkwardness be known for a good 20-minute segment on Sister Wives. Fans jumped in and suggested, that since they went against Logan and Michelle’s request, they should have done better.
Viewers thought they should have at least mentioned their names and cut out all the chatter about feeling awkward during the couple’s special day. It sounds like Kody Brown’s daughter-in-law had that same train of thought about the TLC series.
