Leicester City will face League Two Walsall at the Bescot Stadium this evening in a Carabao Cup clash.  – Newsad

Steve Cooper is expected to field a heavily rotated side to face the Saddlers, who sit third in their league. Walsall will make things difficult for Leicester, but it should be a routine victory for Cooper’s men. Here’s how Leicester City could line up against Walsall this evening.

Leicester City predicted lineup against Walsall

Goalkeeper

Danny Ward

The Welshman started Leicester’s previous Carabao Cup game and is expected to do so this evening as the Foxes’ cup keeper.

Defenders

Ricardo Pereira, Connor Coady, Jannik Vestergaard, Luke Thomas

Leicester will likely field a completely rotated backline, with the fringe players getting a chance. While they may have had little game time this season, all four defenders have plenty of Premier League experience and should keep Walsall’s attackers at bay.

Coady will want to redeem himself for the stoppage time penalty he gave away a couple of weeks ago, while Pereira will aim to prove to Cooper that he deserves a spot in the starting lineup.

Midfielders

Boubakary Soumare, Hamza Choudhury, Bilal El Khannouss

Soumare and Choudhury will likely get their first starts of their season, with Cooper looking to give Harry Winks and Wilfred Ndidi a rest. El Khannouss made an underwhelming debut against Everton on Saturday but is expected to get another chance as he adapts to English football.

Forwards

Kasey McAteer, Odsonne Edouard, Bobby Decordova-Reid

City academy graduate McAteer will likely start on the wings alongside Decordova-Reid, an unused substitute in Leicester’s last two league games. Cooper is set to hand Edouard his first start for the Foxes.
